Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe are good buddies these days, having just held a summit in Tokyo earlier this month.
In fact, both men have taken to Twitter in recent days to show off their friendship to the world.
@AbeShinzo began the exchange on Wednesday, September 17, by wishing Modi a Happy Birthday.
“@narendramodi Happy Birthday, Modi-san! We had a great time together in Kyoto and Tokyo. See you next time!,” Abe tweeted to Modi on his birthday.
@narendramodi Happy Birthday, Modi-san!
We had a great time together in Kyoto and Tokyo.
See you next time!

Fortunately, the Indian leader didn’t have to wait long to return the favor as Abe’s birthday is today, September 21. And Modi clearly one-upped Abe in singing the Japanese prime minister’s praises. See below:
Wishing @AbeShinzo a Happy Birthday! I pray for his long life, good health & wish him the best in leading Japan to new heights of progress.

Whenever I interact with @AbeShinzo, I cannot but marvel at his insight & expertise on a wide range of issues, both local & international.
— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) September 21, 2014
Both PM @AbeShinzo & I are committed to taking India-Japan relations to the next level & contributing to global peace & development.

It appears we have a full fledged “bromance” on our hands, folks. It’s worth pointing out that Modi and Abe’s friendship goes back years, starting well before both men began their current tenures.
